The following question was received.

"I am curious to know the connection between god siva and god jesus. In my point of view siva and jesus teaches same thing to the world which is peace in our mind."

Answer:

To answer your question, I would like to turn you to a Bible passage found in the book of first Corinthians chapter 8:

"Hence, as to the eating of food offered to idols, we know that 'an idol has no real existence,' and that 'there is no God but one.' For although there may be so-called gods in heaven or on earth--as indeed there are many 'gods' and many 'lords'-- yet for us there is one God, the Father, from whom are all things and for whom we exist, and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom are all things and through whom we exist." (1 Corinthians 8:4-6)

The first point here is: "there is no God but one". So, according to the Bible (God's word), there is only one God. If Jesus is God, Siva therefore cannot be a god -- if there is only one God. As evidence that there is only one God, I would like to turn you to another passage of Scripture, in the Old Testament Scriptures, written hundreds of years before Jesus came into the world:

'"You are my witnesses," says the LORD, "and my servant whom I have chosen, that you may know and believe me and understand that I am He. Before me no god was formed, nor shall there be any after me. I, I am the LORD, and besides me there is no savior.' (Isaiah 43:10-11)

God says here plainly that there is only one God.

So Siva and Jesus cannot both be God!

Is Jesus God? The New Testament Scriptures clearly reveal that he is. Let's look at a few passages:

The first is Mark 2:1-12. The passage explains that Jesus has the power to forgive sins. The Jews who were critical of Jesus said, "Why doth this man thus speak blasphemies? who can forgive sins but God only?" (Mark 2:7). But Jesus responded by saying, "...the Son of man has authority on earth to forgive sins" (Mark 2:10).

Again, if you will notice that in the above Isaiah passage that I quoted, God says, "besides me there is no savior". But if you read the Bible in the New Testament section, you will find that Jesus is called the savior of the world! "For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord." (Luke 2:11)

Jesus, then, was born as a little baby into this world, but his existence has been from everlasting. This was declared even before he showed up on the earth, hundreds of years ago, by the prophet Micah:

"But thou, Beth-lehem Ephrathah, which art little to be among the thousands of Judah, out of thee shall one come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth are from of old, from everlasting." (Micah 5:2)

Jesus fulfilled the prophecy found in Micah 5:2 and many others that were given concerning him. Our response is that he is God and he should be worshipped.
