A Cry for Help
By Daniel Parkes
August 16, 2001

I am grieved over this nation, Lord. This is a nation that has gone astray.

This nation is in its worst hour, Lord. The outlook looks bleak, we stand on shaky grounds, our enemies are around us on every side, and they subvert true justice by perverting your righteous laws! Oh, Lord, how my soul is grieved! Oh, Lord, how my pain is great! I walk around all day with sighing, and moaning, on account of the sin of this nation! Lord, I secretly and perpetually grieve on the inside.

I cry out to you for deliverance, Lord. I cry out to you to come and deliver us, your people, from the traps that have been laid before us. We are your people, Lord. Save us!
