The Simpler Things By Daniel ParkesI'm not so worried about the 'complicated' things that the Bible either talks about, or doesn't talk about at all. Like, who really was the shortest person in the Bible? And what percentage of water fell from the sky, and what percentage came up from the deep, at the time of the flood? Where are hamburgers mentioned? All these more 'complicated' things, and more, may not be so clear in the Bible. But ... here are a few simpler things that are! "Also I say unto you, Whosoever shall confess [Jesus Christ] before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God: But he that denieth [Jesus Christ] before men shall be denied before the angels of God." (Luke 12:8-9) "Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless." (2 Peter 3:14) "Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another." (1 John 4:11) "And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you." (Ephesians 4:32) "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law." (Galatians 5:22-23) "Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you." (2 Corinthians 13:11) These, then, are the simpler things. The simpler things, of course, are the more important things. It's nice to try and deal with the more 'complicated' things like hamburgers, and water fall, and the size of people. But how are we doing on the simpler things? It is not the more complicated and ambiguous things that will be heavily weighted come judgment time. It is those 'simpler' things love, joy, peace, and righteousness, that we will be expected to know and live up to. The more 'complicated' things come last! Let's keep our priorities straight and 'major on the majors', as they say, and 'minor on the minors'. What is a Christian? Christians are those who have trusted in Christ as their Lord and Savior. Christians should not be surprised at the events that are currently happening in the world today. In 2014-15, a series of eclipses will be occurring which point to the Lord's return in the very near future. Our opinion is that the rapture of the church will happen prior to this, in 2012. If you are not aware of these eclipses, you must read He is Coming Back Sooner than You May Think (http://www.fcet.org/eclipsearticle.html) which is fully backed up by the data (http://www.fcet.org/eclipsedata.html).
